The Education of Sonny Carson: Fascinating if overemotional drama of disobedient black youth in Brooklyn of the '50s and '60s. Based on Carson's autobiography, the film takes on extra meaning with consideration to his notoriety on the N.Y.C scene. Cast includes Rony Familyton, Don Gordon, Joyce Stroller, and Paul Benjamin. (105 minutes, 1974)

Mrs. Brown, You've got a Lovely Daughter: A stupid reprieve for a film, with Herman and his Hermits heading for London to enter their greyhound in a race. In between the anticipation they harmonize "There's a Sort of Quiet All around the Planet" Cast includes Herman's Hermits, Stanley Holloway, Mona Washbourne, Sara Caldwell, and Javelin Percival. (100 minutes, 1984)

Sudden Impact: Fourth in the Dirty Harry series depends on a reliable recipe, as maverick cop gives us vicarious delight of doing in civilization's scum, although this entry is longer, and stupider, than need be. Locke plays a Lady taking out murderous reprisal on gentlemen (and one lesbian) who raped her and her sis years ago. Cast includes Clint Eastwood, Sondra Locke, Pat Hingle, Bradford Dillman, Paul Drake, Jack Thibeau, and Albert Popwell. (117 minutes, 1983)

Bulletproof Heart: Fortunate hit guy LaPaglia gets a job he's not really cut out for. He he hired to take out an attractive woman who is in dept with the mob. 4 well-conditioned, well-played characters containing Boyle's gloomy mobster and Craven's dimwit companion-don't count quite make this a hit. Cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, Mimi Rogers, Peter Boyle, Matt Craven, and Joseph Maher. (100 minutes, 1994)

8 1/2: (1963-Italian) 135 Fellini's exclusive film casts Mastroianni as a filmmaker trying to create a new venture, among regular visions and numerous subplots. 8 ' is a long, perplexing, however captivating film that is full of artistic and technical wizardry. Absolutely one of the most extremely personal declarations ever made on celluloid. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Cardinale, Anouk Aimee, Sandra Milo, Barbara Steele, Rossella Falk, Madeleine LeBeau, Caterina Boratto, Edra Gale, and Mark Herron. (135 minutes, 1963)

Red Salute: Absconder screwball Stanwyck meets no nonsense cadet Young in this clone of It Occurred One Day with crazy sociopolitical wrinkle. Barbara's boyfriend (Albright) is an interigator who makes Communists talk. This is a definitely a new twist. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, Robert Young, Hardie Albright, Cliff Edwards, Ruth Donnelly, and Gordon Jones. (78 minutes, 1935)

Play Time: Hulot (Tati) drifts through an unrecognizable modern Paris of steel and glass skyscrapers. Scene and noise gags abound in this superbly created film. These assorted effects are connected by Hulot's attempt to keep a meeting. Cast includes Jacques Tali, Barbara Dennek, Jacqueline Lecomte, Valerie Camille, and Leon Doyen. (126 minutes, 1967)

The Last Seduction: Pathologically malevolent and stunningly sensual female ditches her spouse, snatches the money he's made in a drug deal, and escapes N.Y.C. to a tiny upstate town where she allures and bewilders a local gentleman who becomes her latest patsy. Fiorentino's spicy femme fatale makes Stanwyck in Triple Indemnity look like Snow White! The movie is a scorching, seductive thriller from contemporary film noir master Dahl and author Steve Barancik. Cast includes Linda Fiorentino, Peter Berg, J. T. Walsh, Bill Nunn, Bill Pullman, Michael Raysses, and Zach Phifer. (110 minutes, 1994)

Hail Mafia: Somewhat fascinating melodrama in regards to employed killers going after a witness that has witnessed mob activities. Cast includes Henry Silva, Jack Klugman, Eddie Constantine, Elsa Martinelli, and Micheline Presle. (89 minutes, 1965)
